01

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled by the IIW Foundation Android application (the “App”) and its companion website (together, the “Services”). The App is an educational companion for learning about digital systems and identity. This Policy is intended to explain what the Services do, what they deliberately do not do, and the choices available to you.

02

Scope and roles

This Policy applies only to the App with package name org.iiwfoundation.app and the companion website at this domain. It does not govern Android, your device manufacturer, your email or telephone provider, your browser, Cloudflare, or any third-party website or application that you choose to open.

IIW Foundation is the identified organization. The supplied Gmail address and telephone number below are designated Android App Support contacts. The Foundation's public email, iiw@iiwfoundation.org, is shown separately for organization matters.

03

Information stored locally on your device

You may voluntarily create or change the following information in the App:

Local itemWhat it containsWhere it is stored
Session SeedA starting question you enter for an Open Space learning session.Android SharedPreferences on your device.
Preparation progressCompletion state for the five Open Space preparation checklist items.Android SharedPreferences on your device.
Field LogNotes and reflections you choose to enter, plus associated on-device labels or timestamps used by the App.Android SharedPreferences on your device.

The App does not transmit these items to IIW Foundation or App Support. Please do not place passwords, government identifiers, financial information, health information, private keys, authentication secrets, or other sensitive personal information in a Field Log.

04

How local information is used

Local information is used only to provide the App's on-device features: returning you to a Session Seed, displaying progress, and showing Field Log entries back to you. It is not used for advertising, profiling, identity verification, eligibility or employment decisions, credit decisions, automated decision-making, or sale. Saving an entry does not submit a workshop proposal, grant application, registration, support message, or other request to the Foundation.

05

No accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking

06

Android permissions and network access

The App does not request the Android INTERNET permission. It also does not request access to precise or approximate location, camera, microphone, contacts, call logs, SMS, nearby devices, body sensors, calendar, photos, videos, audio files, or other sensitive or restricted device permissions.

When you select an email, telephone, or website action, the App asks Android to hand that action to a compatible external application. This handoff does not give the App permission to read the external application's data.

07

External email, telephone, and browser handling

Email: Selecting an email action opens a draft in an external email application. You can review, edit, or cancel the draft. Nothing is sent until you press Send. If you send it, your email provider processes the message and App Support or the selected recipient receives your address, message, and any other information you include.

Telephone: Selecting the support number opens the external phone application with the number prepared. The App does not place or record a call and does not read your call history.

Browser: Selecting the Privacy Policy or another web resource opens an external browser. The browser, destination website, network provider, and hosting provider may process information under their own privacy terms. The App does not receive your browsing activity from them.

08

Companion website, support form, and hosting

The website's App Support form operates through a mailto: link. The static website does not submit, receive, or store what you type. Your browser passes the prepared draft to your email application only after you select the form button.

This website is delivered through Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process ordinary request information—such as IP address, browser and device information, requested path, date and time, and security signals—to deliver and protect the service. Those infrastructure practices are controlled by Cloudflare. IIW Foundation App Support does not combine such technical logs with the App's local Session Seed, progress, or Field Log.

09

Android backup and device transfer

The App declares Android backup disabled (android:allowBackup="false"). The App is designed so that Session Seed, progress, and Field Log information are not included in normal Android cloud backup or device-to-device restore for this App. Platform behavior may depend on Android implementation, enterprise management, rooted devices, or tools outside the App's control, so no software can promise that device data is inaccessible to every system-level process.

Practical effect: after uninstalling the App or clearing its storage, local App information is not intended to return through the App's Android backup.
10

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local information remains on your device until you use an available in-App delete or reset control, clear the App's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the App. These actions may be irreversible because App backup is disabled.

11

Children's privacy

The Services provide general-audience educational material and are not directed to children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account, analytics service, advertising system, or online database. A parent, guardian, or educator should supervise a minor's use of Field Logs and any external email, phone, or browser action. If you believe a child has emailed personal information to App Support, contact us so the concern can be reviewed.

12

Security and responsible use

The App reduces exposure by using no account, cloud database, Internet permission, advertising, analytics, or sensitive permissions; by storing optional learning data locally; and by disabling App backup. However, no device or storage method is completely secure. Device access, malware, screenshots, rooted systems, system-level tools, or information copied into external applications may expose data. Protect your device with appropriate access controls and avoid recording confidential or security-sensitive information in the Field Log.

13

United States organization and international use

IIW Foundation is identified in Utah, United States. If you email App Support from another country, the recipient and email providers may process your message in the United States or other locations where they operate. Data-protection rights vary by location. You may contact App Support to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you previously sent by email. The App's local data remains under your device's control unless you export or disclose it through an external service.

14

Policy changes and contact information

This Policy may be updated when the App's features, website practices, hosting arrangements, or legal requirements change. The revised text and effective date will be posted at https://iiwfoundation.christensendamarionjtzfpee.workers.dev/privacy-policy. Materially different data practices should be reflected in an updated App and Policy before they take effect.
